We have had an amazing start our 2019 competition season over the past weekend at AASCF Winterfest held at the Carrara Indoor Sports Centre. This is the first comp for our elite teams, and it’s such an exciting time of the year to show your routines to everyone, to do your first comp as a team, and to see where we are sitting score wise.
It is a massive effort from our teams, athletes, coaches, music producers to be prepared for Winterfest. As we do our choreography so late in the season (only 3 weeks before comp!) you can imagine how much goes on in the gym in this time! In a way the limited time is a positive because you HAVE to be ready, and while every coach could agree that they are never quite ready for a comp and could always do with more time we find ourselves just jumping right in!

Competition of course is not just about the results and the placings. It is a time that as a gym we come together and we are so lucky to have such beautiful, supportive and positive families. The energy that our gym as a whole created on the weekend was definitely a highlight of the comp for us.
